What to tell a mobile tire service when your truck needs help
Location and tire size are only the start. These details help the team understand the situation before travelling.
“The truck has a bad tire” tells the workshop you need help, but it is not enough to choose equipment and a solution. Before calling, if it is safe, gather a few specific details.
Exact location and access
Give the road, direction of travel and a nearby landmark, or send a map pin. Explain whether the truck is in a car park, behind site gates or on the roadside. In a dangerous situation, follow road safety requirements first and contact emergency services if needed.
Tire size and affected wheel
Read the size from the sidewall or send a clear photograph. Specify the tractor unit, trailer or other vehicle, the axle and the inner or outer wheel in a dual assembly. One combination may use several tire sizes.
What happened, and is there a spare?
Is it losing air, burst, run flat, or is the rim also visibly damaged? Is a usable spare available and accessible? Photographs help preparation, but repair suitability is finally assessed after inspection.
What should be agreed before travel?
Attendance and estimated arrival, the callout charge, expected work and availability of any replacement tire. Have company billing details ready if an invoice is needed. A reliable total cannot be established just from the words “one tire”.
TAMIS takes tire assistance callouts in Riga and nearby areas around the clock: +371 20 033 110. The workshop follows its separately published opening hours.
